Accessibility
EPIC is committed to meeting access needs for attendees and presenters at the conference. Please reach out at any time with questions: accessibility@epicpeople.org. During the conference, you can email us or visit the Registration & Info Desk.
Some Basics:
- All session rooms and restrooms in our main venue, the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, are wheelchair accessible. A few photos of venue navigation and restrooms are here.
- At the conference dinner venue, the Santa Monica Pier Carousel:
- Neither the “official” address of this building, nor the most common drop-off point when you ask a drive for the “pier carousel”, are convenient to the accessible entrance! To be dropped off at the closest point to the accessible entrance to the Pier Carousel, please give the driver this address: Boardwalk Bike Rentals at 1619 Ocean Front Walk. If you are driving, there are multiple paid parking areas on and near the Pier. A map of parking lots with status (availability of spaces) is here. The lot closest to the accessible entrance is 1640 Appian Way.
- The accessible restrooms are about 250 feet from the carousel building. We will post signage making it clear how to get there.
- Read about travel and learn about metro accessibility.
- At the main venue, we have a dedicated quiet space for sensory breaks. Visit the Registration & Info Desk to reserve time in this space.
- At the main venue, we have a dedicated lactation room. Visit the Registration & Info Desk to reserve time in this space.
- We have asked caterers to ensure that servers can answer detailed questions about ingredients.
- EPIC staff and volunteers are ready to help troubleshoot problems arise.
